A Lesson from the Real Weimerica

The Roaring 20’s began with [Alcohol] Prohibition throughout the United States. The age brought color and sound cinema, short dresses and short hair for women, dance clubs throughout the country, Jazz, suffrage and general employment for women, broader acceptance of homosexuality, and the American Birth Control League, which became the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

In the aftermath of national Prohibition, victorious politicians and activists proclaimed that Prohibition would never be repealed, but it was.

As much as we’re all tempted to assume that our civilization is doomed, I assure you that every vile and disgusting facet of the Current Year may be returned to the dung heap from whence it crawled into our culture. Prohibition came to an end. So can the rest.
